Crystal-clear water, majestic Alps, the splendid Herrenchiemsee Castle – Race where others spend holidays of a lifetime! In summer 2020, the 9th EBERL Chiemsee Triathlon once again brings high-class sports to Bavaria’s most beautiful spots.

The start of the triathlon is located at the eastern shore of the largest lake in Bavaria, the Chiemsee, in the picturesque village of Chieming. The sportive challenge athletes find here: 2 kilometres swimming, 80 kilometres cycling and 20 kilometres running. Or exactly half of it on the Olympic Distance. On Saturday, the Sprint Distance and the Mixed Team Relay race will be held. Paratriathletes can compete at all distances. “Triathlon for all,” is the motto of the race.

Starting at the Chieming Bay, the athletes plunge into the waters of the so-called “Bavarian Sea” and swim towards the world-famous Herreninsel. The bike course leads athletes on a circuit through the idyllic Chiemgau in the shadow of the impressive Prealps, before the running course leads alongside the shores of the Chiemsee.

Dear athletes,

It is a great honor for me being patron for the EBERL Chiemsee Triathlon. I like thinking back to my paratriathlon career before I turned to athletics.
Trusting the experienced organizers and the history of this great sports event, I’m sure another exceptional triathlon weekend will be fun for all involved. The mix of amateur and professional athletes, company relays and family relays, as well as the inclusion of paratriathletes, will give a great atmosphere.

As the representative of para-sports in Germany and former active para-athlete, I am very happy to see how inclusion is practiced at the EBERL Chiemsee Triathlon. Barriers and potential problems are discussed with the athletes at an early stage to find simple and pragmatic solutions – outstanding! I’ happy to be able to contribute to the success of the event with personal commitment.

I look forward to seeing you and you on 29./30. of June.
